According to Joule's law of heating, If we transport electricity form of Direct Current through wires, a major portion of the electricity is already lost and wasted in form of heat which will cause nothing but loss. This is the major disadvantage of the Direct Current.
Alternating current (A.C) is five times more dangerous than Direct current (D.C). The frequency of the alternating current is the main reason for this severe effect on the human body. The frequency of 60 cycles is in an extremely harmful range. At this frequency, even a small voltage of 25 volts can kill a person.

The DC power transmission systems have the following disadvantages, especially in high-voltage applications: Electric energy cannot be generated at high (DC) voltage based on the commutation problem. The stepped-down process in the electric power transmission system is a vital factor.
Advantages of DC
A big advantage of direct current is that it is easier to change the speed of a DC electric motor than it is for an AC one. This is useful in many applications, such as electric and hybrid cars.
