Tanjiro was not born with this scar on his head; rather, he acquired it when tackling his younger brother out of the way of a falling pot of boiling tea. At the beginning of the series, the scar was a light pink circular mark on his head.
Initially, it appears this mark is a scar on the top right of Tanjiro's head, explained in the manga later as what he believes to be a scar he received as a result of saving his brother from a falling boiling kettle.
He claims that Tanjiro still has access to a great power as those with marks like Tanjiro's are the ones chosen by the Sun Breathing style. Tanjiro brushes this off because he wasn't born with this mark but instead got it due to a burning accident years before and an injury during the initial entrance exam.
The scar of Tanjiro is referred to as the Demon Slayer Mark which is like a tattoo or a birthmark giving incredible powers to Tanjiro or any Demon Slayer possessing the mark. It is directly originated in those who practice Sun-Breathing techniques like Tanjiro.
Fighting in conjunction with Tengen, Tanjiro awakens his Mark while beheading the demon. It is said that only those who have survived life-threatening situations with a heart rate of 200 bpm, as well as a body temperature over 39 degrees Celsius, can awaken their Demon Slayer Marks.
In the show, Tanjiro's headmark starts to glow all of a sudden and take the shape of burning flames. And in the very next moment, Gyutaro's head is finally chopped off. This clearly indicates that Tanjiro Awakened his Slayer mark in the anime for the first time.
Tanjiro's head is hard to crack to the extreme! The major literary reason for Tanjiro having such a hard head is to be symbolic of his determination and fighting style. Time and time again, Tanjiro is shown to press forward and fight on even when all hope seems lost.
Overall Abilities: Tanjuro was shown to be a phenomenally strong individual despite not being a Demon Slayer and having a tragic disease that makes his body incredibly frail. He was able to slay a bear more than two meters tall without even wielding a Nichirin Sword at speeds magnitudes faster than the blink of an eye.
3 Did Not: Inosuke Hashibira Trained With Tanjiro But Never Got His Mark. Inosuke, like Zenitsu, spent most of the series traveling with Tanjiro. They fought demons and trained together, yet Inosuke never acquired a mark of his own.
He recalls getting the mark when he was protecting his younger brother from a falling brazier, and it then changed in appearance during the Final Selection. Unlike his father who was born with the mark, Tanjiro simply acquired it meaning he wasn't a chosen one, nonetheless he refuses to back down.
Yoriichi and Tanjiro are connected by way of being chosen to wield Sun-Breathing, but Yoriichi died long after his wife and child had died, meaning he had no direct descendants.
It was after Daki unleashed an attack and harmed multiple people, Tanjiro was extremely angry at this that his eyes were turning blood-shot red.
Though Tanjiro succeeds in making use of Water Breathing throughout the early parts of his adventure, he eventually discovers that he's better suited for Sun Breathing instead.
Tanjiro becomes the Demon King when Muzan enters his body during the finale. But after Tamayo's medicine and Nezuko's calling, Tanjiro fights against Muzan in a power struggle for his own body. In the end, Tanjiro wins and is reverted back into a human state and Muzan perishes.
Tanjiro is very kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes and a compassionate persona. He exhibits a great deal of determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; the best example of this being his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko.
He also has a scar on the top left of his forehead, which he received when he protected his younger brother from a falling brazier. The scar originally looked somewhat like a graze until his fight with the Hand Demon during the Final Selection, after which it develops into his Demon Slayer Mark.
The Water Hashira, Tomioka Giyu, awakened his Mark during his battle against the Upper Rank Three demon, Akaza. His Demon Slayer Mark appeared as a blue design resembling a stream of water on his cheek.
Demon Slayer Marks disappeared for a long time, due to the countless times the Demon Slayer Corps was nearly annihilated, until it reappeared on Tanjiro Kamado, and subsequently, the Hashira who resonated with his mark.
It has been said that no one has been able to kill an Upper Moon in a hundred years, since Upper Moon Six Daki and Gyutaro were killed. ”The demons with Muzan's thick blood coursing through them are demons that have gained a massive amount of strength from Muzan himself.”
After the battle, Tanjiro returns home with his sister and friends. Later it is revealed that he married fellow slayer Kanao Tsuyuri.
The black blade represents the Sun and is surrounded by prejudice and misconceptions, as historically every demon slayer who held it lived a short life. This could mean that Tanjirou is destined to break the pattern and set a new legend for black Nichirin blades in the Demon Slayer universe.
It was merely a scar born out of an accident where he saved his brother out of the way of a falling brazier. But soon, as Tanjiro ventures into his journey to become the strongest Demon Slayer, his scar transforms into a mark.
Tanjiro's rank in the Demon Slayer Corps is Kanoe, the fourth up from the bottom. He doesn't receive a higher rank for the remainder of the series. His rank is specified during a conversation with Inosuke held during the Entertainment District arc.
As a demon slayer, he's finally able to use this remarkably powerful family style. As the style's name implies, the Dance of the Fire God is a fire-based style, so Tanjiro has access to both water and fire techniques.
Why Did Nezuko's Hair Change Color? The first time we see Nezuko in human form she has completely dark hair. Later in the series, colorful streaks appear, but why did Nezuko's hair change color? Nezuko's hair seemed to change color because she became a demon.
