Tap on your Profile Icon at the top left corner of the screen. Tap on the “My BHIM UPI ID” option from the new page. You can view the UPI ID associated with your bank account. You can Add the new UPI ID of your choice.
Create a new UPI ID
- Open Google Pay.
- In the top right, tap your photo.
- Tap Payment methods.
- Tap the bank account for whom you want to create a new UPI ID.
- Select “Manage UPI IDs”
- Tap the '+' next to the UPI ID you want to create.
- When making a payment, you can select the UPI ID you want under “Choose account to pay with”
Open the SBI Yono Lite Mobile App and sign in to your SBI mobile banking account using the required credentials. Now tap on the UPI option and select the enable/disable UPI option. Now select your account and make your preference of enabling or deactivating UPI service for your account.
Select an account from linked in My Accounts and click on Reset UPI PIN option. Give the details of Debit (ATM) Card in the screen and create a new PIN using the OTP in the next screen.
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a banking system that enables money transfers on payment apps. If you wish to add your bank account to Google Pay, then it is important that the bank works with UPI. Your UPI ID is an address that identifies you on UPI, i.e. [email protected]
Your UPI PIN is the number you enter whenever you add a new payment account or make a transaction. You'll be asked to set a UPI PIN when you first add a bank account. If you already have a UPI PIN for your bank account, you can use the same UPI PIN on Google Pay.
To register yourself with UPI without a debit card, it's mandatory to use the same mobile number used, which is registered with your bank account as well as your AADHAAR Card.
For example, in BHIM app UPI ID is shown as [email protected], and in Paytm it's [email protected] You can however create your unique UPI ID as well. The process is the same across all platforms with the first step being providing your registered mobile number.

"Virtual Payment Address" is a special virtual ID. For example, the name, number or a combination of numbers and characters you select, such as [email protected] or [email protected], with @sbi called the UPI handle specific to SBI Bank. The VPA is connected with your account.
The process to get a VPA is as follows: Download the UPI app and link it to a bank account through your mobile number. Use the mobile number which is already registered at your bank. You'll have to go through a mobile verification process, after which follows another verification round.
This UPI ID or your number must be shared with the sender to receive the payment directly into your bank account. You can link multiple bank account in single app. However, each bank account will have different UPI ID and only one of those will be primary bank account in which you will receive money.
To perform UPI registration using BHIM UPI, you will need to download the application from either Google Playstore or Apple App Store. After that, select a language and permit the app to send an SMS to verify. Then, on the homepage, click on 'create UPI ID'.
VPA stands for Virtual Payment Address, which is basically the payment address on which users can make UPI money transfers. When you create your UPI account on the Paytm app, your UPI ID or VPA automatically gets created.
A debit card is mandatory to set the UPI PIN, under the existing mechanism. A customer must key in debit card details to receive a one-time password on his phone to log into the system. As such, customers who have bank accounts but do not have debit cards cannot use the homegrown payments network.

The UPI PIN is similar to ATM PIN. You just have to enter the UPI PIN for making payment through a UPI App.
A UPI PIN is a unique 4 or 6-digit code or password that you need to set for each bank account to enable UPI payments on any app. You will need to enter your UPI PIN on the PhonePe app for any payments you wish to make through UPI.
In relation to UPI Payment Transactions, Google Pay is a TPAP authorised by NPCI to facilitate Payment Transactions through HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India. We are a service provider and participate in UPI through PSP Banks.
According to the NPCI data, Standard Chartered bank had the highest approval rate of 96.74 per cent in remittance of UPI transactions, while Citi Bank registered the highest approval rate of 99.84 per cent among UPI beneficiaries.
Every UPI user has to generate a unique identifier called UPI ID, which is associated with your bank account. This makes it easier to send and receive money instantly on your bank account. You don't have to share your account number or other details.
In case you are creating for the first time then follow the above-mentioned steps or else login onto the YONO app, click on YONO Pay and choose BHIM UPI ID. Post which clicking on manage you will see your SBI VPA on the top box.
